Thanks for a great start!!!

This is our music centre.  Students are welcome to play the keyboard and the instruments below.  We will be introducing a variety of music making tools and instruments as the year progresses.
This is our Science exploration centre.  Please feel free to send in items you might find on nature hikes or from your own backyard.  Big hits in the past have been bird's nests, inactive hives, snake skin, empty cocoons, seeds, etc.  Students love to use the magnifying glasses to investigate these items.  However, please note that we cannot guarantee items will be returned intact given the nature of explorations by small children.
This is a small section of our art centre.  This is a very bustling place where students can paint, draw, and create with a wide variety of materials.  Projects here are open ended.  Students are free to use all resources for whatever purpose they choose.
  • We are off to a great start in our classroom!  We hope your children enjoyed our first week as much as we did!
  • A big thank you to all those with the very generous donations.  Students enjoyed working with many of the materials sent in.  For example, Mrs. O'Neill send in some colourful cups.  These were used in many different ways.  One student created a cup song, noting that when there are two cups, the sound is "softer" than when there is just one hitting the table.  Another student used them to create a shell game.  They were also used to build stacked structures.  And, at the art table, they were used to create baskets.  Thanks again for ALL of the donations!  Don't forget that we appreciate all sorts of items.  For example:
    • paper towel tubes (we cannot accept toilet paper tubes)
    • styrofoam trays from vegetables
    • packing styrofoam
    • buttons
  • We look forward to posting pictures of our friends here but are required to wait until we have all of our Consent to Photo sheets back.  These will go home this week.  Please fill them out and return as soon as possible.  In the meantime, enjoy the above pictures of our classroom :)
