So much to report!!!!

Sorry about not posting in a while.  What a busy last two weeks.  First a few reminders then on to the pictures.
  1. Tomorrow is our performance at the assembly.  We will begin making our way to the gym at 11:30.  We will be singing a song and a couple of our friends will help emcee the event.  Please join us if you can!
  2. Water Day is on Tuesday with a rain date on Wednesday.  I will keep you posted if rain is predicted on Tuesday.  Please be sure to send your child in clothes that dry quickly.  It is also a good idea to send a change of clothes that your child can independently change into.
  3. Wednesday we will have another assembly but students will not be performing at it.
  4. Thursday is the last day of school for students.  I know that Ms. Romero and I have said it many times but please know we have thoroughly enjoyed this year with this remarkable group of children.  When taking down the Work Windows, we marvelled at the gains each child has made over this year.  We reflected on their growth both academically and personally.  This year truly has been a lot of fun and we would like to commend all of you on raising such kind, caring, and genuinely nice children!
Now for the fun part!!!!!

Sometimes working upside down just makes sense!

Remember that stubborn sweet potato that we planted in January?  It is finally growing!  When we were just ready to give up and put it in the garbage, Mrs. Anderson told us it wouldn't grow because it was not organic.  So, we planted an organic one too.  That one is finally growing too!  Better late than never!

We were curious about what was inside of a baseball so we dissected one that Mrs. Carlone gave to us.  We took the red stitches out and under the layer of leather, we found sticky. fine. white string.  We very carefully took all of that off and found a more coarse layer of black string.  Finally, under that we found a black ball at the core.  We cut that open and observed the cork-like material inside.

Then we watched a video about how baseballs are made and were
amazed to find out that they are stitched individually by hand!

THE END
Thanks again for your patience!
