Pizza for Sale on Wednesdays

Just a quick reminder that Parent Council will be selling pizza this Wednesday at first nutrition break for $2 a slice.  I will tally the orders and money on Wednesday morning.  Please send in a note on a sticky or in the communication book along with the money on Wednesday morning only.

SOCKS for Thursday's Field Trip

Please ensure that your child has socks on for our trip to Hi Jinks.  All children and parent volunteers must remove their shoes to enter the play area so appropriate socks are a must.  Thank you!

Week of March 23-27

 We used crayons and water colour paints to decorate eggs.

Some sharing (choosing something they were proud of from that day and telling the class about it)

 We started measuring.  Here we are lining ourselves up according to height -shortest to tallest

 We played golf and tried to get the most points by putting the ball in the holes with the biggest numbers.

 Always lots of writing work and busy-ness at the art centre!

Who is that behind the snowman?  Wait!!!  A SNOWMAN?!!!!

 

 

A remarkable structure.  They built it and kept adjusting so that
 the tubes could roll down one ramp and then roll down the
other ramp and back to them.  They made sure to put the
blocks at the end so that the tubes would not roll away from them.
AWESOME ENGINEERING!!!

 We have been singing Charlotte Diamond's "Octopus" and "I am a Pizza".  I point to the words in the books shown above.  Many students can now easily read the words and point to them accurately during independent play.

 We compared objects in the room to the ruler and sorted them into longer, shorter and the same size as the ruler.  We also talked about the lines on the ruler and how we use the centimeter to measure,

 Ms. Romero challenged friends to find objects the same size as the ruler.  She taught them how to line up the ruler to be sure we are measuring accurately.

 On Friday, we celebrated Earth Hour by turning off the lights.  A friend set up our candles (battery operated) to help us see. 

 All of our hard work and the lights off were too much for some friends and they decided to take a little rest.  It continues to amaze Ms. Romero and I at the kindness of our class.  They were extremely careful to not disturb those having a rest.

And one last building!  This one resembles the Taj Mahal!
